BURBERRY GOES OUT-OF-HOME
Bruna Camargo
Where would fashion be without advertising? There is a great link between what we see on multiple types of media and what is hanging in our closet. Working in the advertising industry, I always admire when a fashion brand stands out in the category and grabs headlines.
Burberry was once known for its plaid, splashed across magazine spreads, covering the backs of great celebrities, movie stars, and other “faces of the brand.” But now that we’ve changed as consumers, the advertising has to embrace our new way of consuming. It needs to strive to make a bigger connection with us, the mere mortals. The people who wouldn’t dare be on the cover of a magazine. Do we get represented?
