Are diamonds a girl's best friend? Well, I guess you can take a look at my *googly eyes* below and see for yourself. I was recently invited by FireCushion Diamonds to go experience first-hand what it's like to wear the most beautifully cut cushion diamonds in the world. I visited The Diamond Vault of Troy, one of three places carrying these diamonds in Southeast Michigan – they are that exclusive.
When FireCushion cuts extra and unnecessary weight from your diamond, you're not getting weight you can't see, and what you're paying for is worth every penny. My legs turned into jello when I was able to walk inside the vault and try on these gorgeous and dream-worthy pieces of jewelry.
Not only did I try on rings with FireCushion cut diamonds, but I also wore necklaces and bracelets that would make Rose from Titanic super jealous.
With this visit, I was also able to get a play-by-play of what it's like to shop for a diamond. When Pedro and I got engaged, he did most of the legwork when it came to picking out a diamond. Randy from The Diamond Vault of Troy was kind enough to walk me and my friend Lauren through the whole process as if we were buying.
We learned all about the 4 C's – Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat – and made our own assumptions of what would be the most important thing in a diamond. What I really loved about TDV's conduct when selling, is that they use education to empower you to make your own choices, as opposed to pushing whatever is most expensive.
Getting to know the FireCushion diamond, I now believe that Cut is the most important of the C's.
Obviously when it comes to buying a diamond, usually for your engagement ring, a lot of EMOTION goes into it. But if you're backed up by knowledge of what's best out there, you can make better decisions when it comes to making one of the most important purchases you'll ever make.
I hope this helped guide and inform you a bit! Did you go through an arduous learning process before buying your diamond? Are you still in the market? Tell me everything, guys!
