A weekend in Florida with the sun beaming down is all you need sometimes. One of my good friends from high school got married in The Sunshine State so I headed down with some other girlfriends and celebrated her new last name with her. During Spring Break. At 25. Whoops?

This Marchesa Notte gown was perfect for the occasion and the backdrop. I'm also debuting my newly-cut (6 inches!) hair and first & new tattoo! It's the outline of the state of São Paulo where I was born in Brazil.

I'm back in Michigan now and sporting a couple of burnt shoulders, a hefty bill from the poolside bar but a refreshing feeling in the soul. Just kidding, it's mostly a headache.

Port: Um fim de semana na Flórida com o sol de rachar mamona é tudo o que você precisa de vez em quando. Foi o casamento de uma amiga do colégio, então juntei uma mala e fui até lá! Spring Break normalmente é para o pessoal no colegial ou na faculdade. Mas eu com 25 aproveitei do mesmo jeito. Sem julgar, né?

Este vestido Marchesa Notte foi perfeito para a ocasião e para esse pôr-do-sol maravilhoso. Eu também to estreando as madeixas recém-cortadas (15cm!) e minha primeira tatuagem! Reconhecem, galera? ;)

Agora estou de volta em Michigan e voltei com um par de ombros queimados, uma conta pesada do bar da piscina, mas uma sensação refrescante na alma. Mentira, é ressaca mesmo.

In a New York state of mind

Last week I traveled to NYC for work. It was just for a few days but I find it kind of amazing how much I could see myself battling the so-called concrete jungle on a daily basis. I guess I still am a city girl at heart, having been born and raised in Sao Paulo. But I never did get to explore it as much as I would have now. NYC is made just for that: exploring and discovering yourself while you discover the next greatest coffee shop of your life.

Port: Semana passada viajei para Nova York a trabalho. Foram só alguns dias, mas acho meio incrível o quanto eu me vejo vivendo na tal "concrete jungle." Apesar de morar numa cidade relativamente pequena, a vida loka de São Paulo nunca me deixou kkkk. Mas eu nunca tive a chance de realmente descobrir Sampa como eu o faria hoje em dia. E NYC é feito pra isso: explorar e descobrir a si mesmo, enquanto você acha a próxima melhor lanchonete de sua vida.

StyleMile in Hollywood: Elle Women in TV 2015

Every once in a while, a regular girl gets a chance to wear a proverbial tiara and be in the presence of royalty. In my case, my tiara happened to be these tri-colored Jimmy Choo's and my queen was Lena Dunham. A few weeks ago, I attended the Elle Women in TV dinner in West Hollywood to do social media coverage of the event. My day started with breakfast on the Terrace of the historic Sunset Tower Hotel, followed by hair and makeup done by the Elle Magazine beauty squad. Finally, night fell, the star-studded red carpet got rolled out and that's when the fun began. Highlights of the night? Doing a "which way you going" dance in the bathroom threshold with Sia, sharing Midwest stories with Emily Wickersham and obviously doing a twirl for Maura Tierney after being asked "who are you wearing?" Celebs, they're just like us!

Fact: Hollywood actresses DO eat, and eat well, noted by the french fries that disappeared from these girls' plates. I never thought I'd see ketchup and couture in the same room, but hey, there's a first time for everything.

Port: De vez em quando, uma garota comum se depara com a chance de vestir uma coroa e tricotar com a realeza. No meu caso, a minha coroa virou um par de Jimmy Choo's e a rainha era a Lena Dunham. Fui convidada ao jantar "Elle Women in TV" em West Hollywood para cobrir o evento nas mídias sociais pelo trabalho. Meu dia começou com o café da manhã no hotel histórico Sunset Tower. Depois, fiquei toda trabalhada no hair & make pelo time de beleza da Revista Elle. Por fim, caiu a noite, desenrolaram o tapete vermelho e foi aí que a começaram os babados. Destaques da noite? Aquela dancinha "opa, to entrando enquanto você ta saindo" na porta do banheiro com a cantora Sia, compartilhar histórias de Michigan e Missouri com a atriz Emily Wickersham e, claro, dar uma voltinha para mostrar o vestido pra Maura Tierney que me perguntou "quem você está vestindo?" Famosas... Gente como a gente!

Fato: Atrizes de Hollywood comem, e comem bem. Eu ali , apenas observando as fritas sumindo dos pratos. A gente pensa que nunca vai ver ketchup e haute-couture no mesmo ambiente, mas há uma primeira vez para tudo, né mermo?
