VLOG: Marie Claire Photoshoot

UPDATE: The February issue came out on Thursday, January 7th, and I did indeed happen to get on it! SO EXCITING! Unfortunately they shot more girls than what appeared in the feature so I did sit on the edge of my seat for months, waiting for this issue to come out. 

I can't say it enough – I am beyond grateful! Thank you also to all the lovely people who have supported me throughout this journey and gave me love.  Cheers to 2016!

A few weekends ago, Marie Claire Magazine reached out and invited me to take part in their Beauty Roadshow feature, taking place in Detroit for the February issue! There were so many fab girls on that chilly, sunny day in Midtown Detroit, but the cold doesn't faze us Michigan girls. It actually makes us more stylish – point in case, my faux fur jacket. 

I was asked to style myself and do my own makeup which made me crazy nervous! It's not every day you're on set with a publication like Marie Claire. I am so humbled and incredibly honored to have been asked to do this. It was super surreal and like I mentioned on Instagram when it first happened – I managed to trip just once!

Dá até pra dar um charme a mais, com o casacão de pelo faux.

Quanto ao look e beleza, a Marie Claire pediu que eu chegasse pronta, e gente, que nervoso! Não é todo dia que você está no set com uma revista top. Aliás, isso me deixou tão feliz e agradecida, vocês não têm noção! Foi super surreal e até contei no Insta – eu conseguiu tropeçar uma uma vez só! kkkkk

Fall is finally here! I've talked about this before, but autumn is my absolute favorite season of the year, especially in Michigan. And you know what goes well with the chilly weather? Team spirit, duh! In case you didn't know, I used to be a cheerleader in high school – state champion no less – therefore I'm no stranger to representing a team via an outfit.

Here in Detroit, it's all about Lions Football right now. But to show off my team spirit, I wanted to do something more than Jeans + Top for a lunch date with Pedro in downtown Ann Arbor.

This top from Majestic Athletic has just the right amount of bling, but is also made of the same material from the boys' jerseys. So it's perfect for me to embrace my inner Katy Perry and be all like "You're gonna hear my roooar." Because Lions, get it?!

Português: O outono chegooou! Eu já falei sobre isso antes, mas essa época do ano é maravilhosa, principalmente aqui em Michigan. E você sabe o que cai bem com o tempo frio? Team spirit, galera! kkkk Como eu era líder de torcida quando estava na high school – campeã estadual, hein – e ainda mais depois da ultima Copa do Mundo, representar time de um jeito bacana é comigo! 

Na temporada de futebol americano, aqui em Detroit, todo mundo torce pros Lions. 

Então, pra quebrar o Jeans + Camisa para um almocinho com o namorido, eu usei essa camisa da Majestic Athletic, com um "bling" especial e feita do mesmo material das camisas masculinas. Abracei minha Katy Perry interior e cantei: "You're gonna hear me roooar." Porque é Lions, pegou?!

Bridal Bling and a Coffee Fling

As you guys already know, I got engaged back in May. Hooray! Which means my left hand would pretty much be adorned with the same beautiful piece of jewelry for a while. However, when Anjolee, a high-end diamond jewelry manufacturer and retailer reached out to me, my heart skipped another beat.

I took my butt to downtown Royal Oak, MI to debut my new bridal bling and enjoy a latte at the brand-new coffee shop in the area: Atomic Coffee. It is now open at the corner of Fourth and Main St. and ya can't miss it – it's got a giant coffee mug on top of its awning!

I can't wait to work the day away in their slick, bright red accent-interior and try all their delicious menu options, from nitro cold brews, pour-overs, to yummy breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Also, Atomic Coffee is pretty much Instagram heaven.

E foi então que fui para o centrinho de Royal Oak, MI para estrear meu novo bling-bling e experimentar um latte no mais novo coffee shop da area: Atomic Coffee. Fica na esquina da Fourth e Main St. e não dá pra passar batido - tem uma caneca de café gigante na fachada!

O café realmente é uma delícia e o ambiente muito legal – super moderno e chique, com um quê industrial mas também bem gostoso pra sentar e trabalhar. Fora que é uma fonte absurda de fotos perfeitas pro Instagram!
